Follow the evidence to its origin.
Readers should be able to inspect the basis of a claim.
What each citation includes
Source title, publisher or author, a working link, publication date when identified and an explanation of its relevance. When a reliable date is unavailable, the entry says so instead of inventing one.
Primary evidence and syntheses
Original datasets, studies and archival documents are preferred. Textbooks and expert assessments can explain settled methods or integrate a large body of research, but are identified as such. Multiple pages from one organization do not count as independent replication.
What initial checking means
Initial sources were located through web research, with direct reading where accessible. Some hosts block automated retrieval or require interactive access. New review copies remain private pending editorial approval. A link check is not the same as replication of a study.
Quotation and context
Explanations are written in our own words. Citations should support the specific claim, preserve context and distinguish results from interpretation. Third-party materials retain their own rights.
Translations
The current edition is English. Content records include a language field so reviewed Japanese and Spanish editions can be added. Translations will need their own review; the site does not currently claim translated coverage.
